Russell was my inspiration to do Maths at Cambridge and become a maths teacher - due as much to his sense of fun and lack of gulf between teachers and students as to his actual (perfectly sound!) teaching itself. Kath - you gave me my first cookery lesson after my own mum died (choc eclairs for goodness’ sake!). How much do I owe you both?! I have taught for 40 years and cooked for my family for the same. Ha.
